Being the ‘newbie’ in the E&C Co. office over the past several months has certainly been fun but oh-my, it has been eye opening! I’ve been privileged to attend several Gala Awards throughout my career in the Construction industry, but I now have a greater understanding of the extensive preparation, coordination, logistics and hours (and hours and hours…) which go into pulling off a seamless Gala Awards ceremony here at E&C Co. It absolutely blew my mind!
What I didn’t realise is that our Team frequently delivers an all encompassing Awards Management Service – with military precision – whilst seamlessly executing every single other facet of the event delivery.
If it sounds like I’m fan-girling, that’s because I am!
Everyone has their role in this well-oiled machine, and they all play to their strengths.
We’ve got Rebecca, (the brainchild behind E&C Co.) who, on top of having her finger on the pulse of the entire event execution, can be found show-calling with the AV crew up the back, ensuring the production and AV execution is seamless. The entire event is curated literally to the minute, with music, lights, cameras, videos, the whole works!
Justine is the ‘Awards Queen’, she can be found up the front in white gloves ensuring the trophies are polished, certificates are at the ready and the MC and presenters are briefed and ready to go! She coordinates the what, where, who and ‘omg, how do I pronounce this name?’ To top it off, Justine has also scripted the entire production, writes the media releases and manages the social media content curation.
Bridget is our go-to girl on the night for all things event set up and guest seating!… Afterall, she has spent many, many hours meticulously placing VIPs, event sponsors, winners and presenters for optimal stage accessibility. She also captures the dozens and dozens of emails requesting BFFs be sat together. Bridget is also our inhouse EventsAir expert – the one stop platform we use to manage the event websites, guest registrations, ticket sales, sponsorship and so much more!
What has become abundantly clear to me is that this is just a snapshot of the services E&C Co. provide. No wonder an event can take up to a YEAR to co-ordinate and execute.
What surprised you most about the role of an Event Manager?
